EASTERN CARIBBEAN
Pilot Guides DVD
Traveller Justine Shapiro travels the islands of the Lesser Antilles, i.e. the Eastern Caribbean, in this single disk Pilot Guide DVD.
Beginning and ending in Trinidad, she participates in the glittering party atmosphere of Carnival, decked out in a US$200 costume (which she gets to keep!). She swims in the pristine waters off the island of Tobago, one of the last unspoiled islands in the Caribbean.
Spectacular island scenery vies with pleasant tropical towns, like St George's on Grenada. She checks out the fruit at the market, and samples the guava jelly ("this is the nectar of the gods").
On Trinidad Justine tucks into vegetable roti, a popular Indian dish, and on Grenada samples sous (spicy soup) a local specialty.
Her accommodation on the islands varies from a beautiful inn that has hosted film stars to a one-star bungalow with a five-star view! Another has giant leatherback turtles visiting in the middle of the night (and staff to wake you to witness the event!)
On another island she meets a woman who is 125 years old and has never seen television.
And what's a holiday in the Caribbean without scuba diving? In this instance the action takes place around the fantastic undersea landscape off the island of Dominica.
Scenic, culturally colourful, hospitable and fun loving, the islands of the Eastern Caribbean are revealed at their best on this DVD.
